Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), a non-profit organization committed to feeding hungry children throughout the world has three local packing sites in the Chicagoland region. These meals are boxed and sent to over 70 countries around the world where the meals are used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty.
Upland Design staff joined Members of the Suburban Branch of the American Public Works Association (APWA) to volunteer to pack meals in Aurora. As part of an assembly line, Liz and Maria helped the group of volunteers hand pack meals that are specially formulated for malnourished children. This included a combination of rice, soy protein, vitamins, and dehydrated vegetables. In a 1.5 hour shift the group packed enough for 17,496 meals.
As part of world awareness, Upland Design was honored to be part of this event with fellow consultants and municipal staff. ‘Tis the season to help a great cause. Learn more about Feed My Starving Children packing times and donating. Also, join APWA at their next great event.
