Upland Design led the master planning and site redevelopment of this community park site adjacent to Batavia High School. Neighbors were invited to contribute ideas and the Park District staff helped create priorities and phasing during the public input process. The playground renovation created a meeting space for fun with new play equipment and poured in place surfacing throughout.
Play pieces include a large play structure with net climbers, slides, pods, and loops of active play on the main structure. A large swing area includes accessible swings, belt swings and bucket seats for toddlers. A large net climber was saved in place and linked together with the new playground within one big rubber surfacing play area. The entry plaza hosts four hopscotch games that form the logo of the Park District in four bright colors.
