Upland Design was brought in to assist the Forest Preserves of Cook County make multiple improvements at three of their Forest Preserves. Master plans for each site were developed with the input of the public through open houses held at each site.
Thatcher Woods improvements include two parking lot renovations with new bio-swales and lighting, accessibility improvements, landscape planning and new trails. The Trailside Museum located at Thatcher Woods received a new nature climbing and play area as well.
Miller Meadow includes a new trail system, bird watching look out, canoe launch, slack lining, dog park, model airplane field, disc golf and many accessibility improvements.
Cummings Square includes improvements to the entryway as well as connections throughout the park. The Historic outdoor theater was made accessible and new electric planned.
