Blackberry Trail - Shelter

Linking the Blackberry Creek Trail system to new residential areas is the goal of the 20-acre BlackberryTrailPark.  Upland Design led concept development, construction document preparation and permitting for the project.  The new park incorporates a transition from the natural areas along Blackberry Creek to the park’s active recreation areas.  Native grasses and perennials were used in the transition areas along with a bio-swale and native plantings at the parking lot.  Oak, Linden and Hackberry trees are planted throughout the new recreation areas. Limestone outcropping and seat walls incorporate local stone into the park elements.  Funded in part with IDNR OSLAD grant dollars, the new park includes many passive and active amenities for the community.
