Trantina Farm Park

Set among the changing Will County landscape of farms and neighborhoods, Trantina Farm Park is a 50-acre site purchased by Homer Township for permanent open space.  With partial funding though the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, residents can now enjoy trails and local history in one location.  Numerous farm buildings have been preserved for future restoration, and a rare screen room has been restored.  Additionally, an historic barn that would have been otherwise lost, was relocated to the site and is now used as a meeting spot for school groups and the community.  Amenities developed through the project include:

Prairie with Walking and Horse Trails

Picnic Shelters

Farm Themed Playground

Dog Park

Interpretive Signage

Community Garden Plots

Parking Lots
