Brentwood Park Playground

With its natural area backdrop of forest preserve and creek edge, Brentwood Park has the perfect place for a nature playground. The Upland Design team led public open houses and meetings to gain input from staff and stakeholders to ensure the site reflected the needs and desires of the community.

The playground includes rock climbing areas with hand painted creatures nestled among the play pieces. These include caterpillars, spiders, salamanders, snakes and dragon flies. Creatures were added to hopscotch as well as to the retaining walls to continue the imaginative nature theme. Rubber surfacing flows like water down the hill where a slide and hand grips give kids reason to play longer. A large shaded patio overlooking the play area was added for game tables and seating.
