Richland Elementary Outdoor Classroom

Richland School is creating a nature based dynamic, outdoor classroom space within the interior courtyard of their elementary building. Upland Design worked closely with staff and stakeholders to develop a master plan to guide planning and fundraising for the School. Through an interactive process, program elements and design ideas were explored to develop a peaceful and interactive space for students.

The design includes an entry garden with reading nook, multiple classroom spaces, working gardens and larger group amphitheater space. A rain garden with native plants and butterfly garden are included to add sustainable and educational components. The planning includes a comprehensive cost estimate to assist with fund raising and prioritization.
