New Artificial Turf
West Chatham Park on Chicago’s Southside is undergoing a transformation. The previous natural turf football practice field and baseball diamond are being revamped with artificial turf. This new field was designed to accommodate soccer, football and baseball/softball field with a 300′ outfield. It also includes over a foot of gravel to act as storm water detention to meet city codes.
Currently, the field numbers and tick marks are being inlaid with the infield cut in. New sports lighting, scoreboard and bleachers are also being made ready for the first games to be played. Field improvements are scheduled to be complete by the end of the month.
Thanks to All-Bry Construction for the aerial photograph and great work on this project for the Chicago Park District.
